The locale on the Cisco 7940 IP phone display and the CallManager web pages determine which language will be used. If none is selected, the display and web pages will automatically be displayed in the default of English.
- To change the locale for the
phone display:
- Log on to the Cisco CallManager at
http://callmanager/ccmuser.

- Click the
Change the Locale for this phone link.
- Click the down arrow to the right of
"User Locale for this phone" and select the preferred language by single clicking on it.
- Click the
Update button.
The page will refresh and the following Status message will appear:
Update completed successfully; User Locale for this phone updated. The phone display will go through a new configuration and the display will now appear in the language selected.
- To change the locale for the
CallManager web pages:
- Log on to the Cisco CallManager at
http://callmanager/ccmuser.
- Click the
Change the Locale for these web pages link.
- Click the down arrow to the right of
"User Locale" and select the preferred language by single clicking on it.
- Click the
Update button.
- A dialog box will appear that says,
"Your User Locale has changed to a setting that requires a different language. Do you want to switch to the new language [language selected] now? Click OK to switch or Cancel to continue in the current language [current language]." Click
OK.
The page will refresh and the following Status message will appear in the language selected:
Ready.
