How to request a voicemail password reset

Document number: 75084

If you've forgotten your voicemail password, you must request that the password be reset. Follow these steps:

  1. Try the default password of 111. If you still cannot access your voicemail, open a NorthStar Communications/Telecommunications ticket to request a reset of your voicemail password.

  2. Launch NorthStar and log in, if necessary. For more information about launching NorthStar, click here for document 70001 — How to create a ticket in NorthStar.

  3. On the left side of the screen, click on the Log Service Ticket link.

  4. On the contact screen, make sure the information is current and indicate how you would like to be contacted if there are any questions (the default is by phone, based on your internal phone number in the PeoplePeople Directory.)

  5. Click Next.

  6. On the next screen, choose Communications and click Next.

  7. On the next screen, choose Telecommunications.

  8. Next to "Please specify the type of your request", choose Voice Mail.

  9. Next to "What type of help you need?" choose I have an issue.

  10. Type in a short subject. It will appear in the heading of your ticket on the My Tickets list.

  11. In the Description field, include the following information that you have forgotten your voicemail password and would like to have it reset.

  12. Click Finish.

Your request for the reset has been submitted. When the reset is complete, you will be notified via Lotus Notes.
