How to order a keyboard, monitor, and/or monitor stand

Document number: 73001

An external keyboard, monitor, and/or monitor stand may be requested when the computer workstation is being ordered. If you need to order them after after ordering the computer AND you are an employee based in the United States, see the Eureka! document on accessing the Peripherals Ordering website to order these items. (The website is not yet available for use by employees based outside the U.S.)

If you are not based in the United States, follow the steps below:

  1. Launch NorthStar and log in, if necessary. For more information about launching NorthStar, see Eureka! document 70001 — How to create a ticket in NorthStar.

  2. On the left side of the screen, click on the Log Service Ticket link.

  3. On the contact screen, make sure the information is current and indicate how you would like to be contacted if there are any questions (the default is by phone, based on your internal phone number in the PeoplePeople Directory.)

  4. Click Next.

  5. Choose Workstation and click Next.

  6. Choose Add a Peripheral to Existing Hardware and click Next.

  7. In the drop-down list next to What type of hardware peripheral do you need? choose the appropriate equipment.
    • Keyboards come in 2 versions - Ergonomic Keyboard and Standard Keyboard.

  8. Fill in the other required fields (labeled in red text).

  9. Click Next.

  10. From the Current Asset Number drop-down list, choose the machine for which the peripheral is being ordered.

  11. Fill in any other information you deem necessary.

  12. Click Finish.

Your NorthStar request has been submitted. You will be contacted when the request is complete. You may receive an email from "wsbuild" asking you for certain files and passwords. You may disregard that email if you are only requesting peripherals such as the items in this document. If you have multiple tickets, be sure to read each email carefully so that you are responding to the correct ticket.
