There are various Windows Installer errors that may be resolved by installing a newer version of the Microsoft Installer software. Follow these steps to install the software:

1. Launch Lotus Notes, then open the Software Library by clicking the bookmark link.

2. You may need to look in your databases folder for the Software library bookmark .

3. If you don't have the Software Library bookmark see document 16250 — How to add the Software Library database link to Lotus Notes for instructions on installing the Software library bookmark.

4. Click the Standard Software Package Installs icon.

5. Scroll until you see the entry Microsoft Installer, MSI, and double-click on it to open it.

6. Read the information on that page.

7. Click on the button labeled Reinstall Microsoft Installer.

8. Reboot your machine, if you are not requested to as part of the installation process.

The newer version of the Microsoft Windows Installer software should be loaded onto your machine.
