Microsoft Office bar missing in Windows 2000

Document number: 69054

The Windows 2000 Quick Launch bar replaces the Microsoft Office 97 shortcut bar seen on Windows NT4 machines.  The Quick Launch bar serves the same functions as the Office bar. In most cases you modify and move the Quick Launch bar the same way you did for the Office bar.

taskbar2.gif (2546 bytes) The icon that looks like a desk blotter with a pad of paper and pencil (just to right of start button in this image) is your desktop icon.   It will minimize all open windows so that you can clear your desktop to get to shortcuts and related items.  To restore the windows just click the desktop icon again.

For information on moving and modifying the Quick Launch bar in Windows 2000 see document 69053 — How to move or modify the Quick Launch bar.
