How to change or remove sound assigned to events

Document number: 69038

Certain system events such as the windows start-up are associated with a sound file that plays when the event occurs.  Some are particularly useful in alerting the user, such as when the operating system has asked a question and is waiting for a reponse. Other sound associations simply enhance the user interface.  In some cases a user would like to have no sound play.

Select your operating system for instructions on viewing and changing permissions.
