Taskbar disappears - turn "Always on top" on
If your taskbar gets covered up by other applications the most common cause is that the "Always on top" setting is not on. To prevent your other applications from covering up your taskbar, set "Always on top" to be on.
We can open the Start menu without knowing where it is. That will allow us to check that "Always on top" is on.
1. Hold the { Ctrl} key, press { Esc}. The Start menu will pop out.
2. Select Settings, then Taskbar.
3. Select " Taskbar Options" tab.
4. Is there a check mark in the box next to " Always on top"? If there is not, turn it on by checking the box next to " Always on top".
5. Click OK to close the Taskbar Properties window.
Turning "Always on Top" on should keep your taskbar in view. If your taskbar is still disappears try the other steps described in document 69006 — How to find, move and modify the taskbar. If you are still unable to locate the taskbar or if it does not behave normally please contact Technical Support Operations for assistance.
