How to set your default connection location in VPN

There is no default location set when the Cisco version 4.0.1 is installed. However, since the locations are listed alphabetically, Amsterdam does appear first. If you do not change to a closer geographic location, you will connect to the Amsterdam VPN server.

When you connect, the connection you used last is the one that will be used the next time unless you change the location manually. You may set a default location so that it will always show up as the first Connection choice.

There are 3 PeopleSoft VPN server locations - Amsterdam, Pleasanton, and Sydney.

When the Cisco client software launches, you may notice that the highlighted or chosen location is geographically far from your present location (usually, the choice is Amsterdam). In Simple mode, see Eureka! document 55178 — How to set the mode of the Cisco client software screen), it is the only server that appears on your screen. You can change a default location to a server that is closest to you most of the time you VPN in. Follow these steps:

Make sure you are in Advanced Mode ( Options menu - see Eureka! document 55178 — How to set the mode of the Cisco client software screen).
Right-click on the location you connect to the most often. Then choose Set as Default Connection Entry. Click on this icon to see an image of this choice:
