How to request a VPN logon name change

Document number: 55170

You may request a VPN logon name change if your name was originally misspelled or if you have changed your name. The VPN logon name change is SEPARATE from a network logon name change (see Eureka! document 55169 — How to request a network logon name change). If you have also submitted a network name change request, make sure the information you provide for both requests is consistent. Generally, the VPN logon user name should match your network logon name. The administrator will be checking your network logon name information before processing your VPN logon name change request.

Follow these steps:

  1. Launch NorthStar and log in, if necessary. For more information about launching NorthStar, see Eureka! document 70001 — How to create a ticket in NorthStar.

  2. On the left side of the screen, click on the Log Service Ticket link.

  3. On the contact screen, make sure the information is current and indicate how you would like to be contacted if there are any questions (the default is by phone, based on your internal phone number in the PeoplePeople Directory.)

  4. Click Next.

  5. Choose Communication and click Next.

  6. Choose Remote Access and click Next.

  7. In the drop-down list next to Which remote application? choose VPN.

  8. In the drop-down list next to What type of help you need? choose I need information.

  9. In the Subject field, enter "Please change my VPN logon user name."

  10. In the Description field, enter the name change information.

  11. Click Finish.

Your VPN logon user name change will be processed as you specified.
