Verify SecurID token PIN via the internet

Document number: 55148

A PIN is a "Personal Identification Number" that is used in conjunction with your VPN token.

Note: At this time, legacy J.D. Edwards employees generally do not have to use a PIN to use VPN. You may establish one if you wish; please do NOT forget what you choose! To establish a PIN, see Eureka! document 55147 — Set SecurID token PIN via the internet.

You can verify that you are using the correct login information with your RSA SecurID token via the internet using the site http://news.peoplesoft.com.

Important notes:

Follow these steps to verify your logon information for your RSA SecurID token:

  1. Launch the Internet Browser on the machine.

  2. Type the URL http://news.peoplesoft.com in the Address field and navigate to that site.

  3. Enter your Username (should be the same as your network logon name).

  4. Click Send.

  5. On the next screen, wait for the number on your token to change, then enter your PIN code and then the numbers on your token (no space in between) in the PASSCODE field.
    • Example: If your PIN is "orange" and the number displayed on your token is 299595, you would enter orange299595 in the PASSCODE field.

  6. Click Send.

  7. If you are using the correct information, the server should allow you in.
    • If you enter the wrong information, you will get an "Access denied" message and will be prompted to log in again.
    • Note: You have only 3 tries to get the Username and Passcode information correct. If you mistype the information more than 3 times, your token will be locked. Call Technical Support Operations to have it reset and/or unlocked.
      • If you are a contractor, remember that your VPN account must be extended every 90 days. Please contact Technical Support Operations for what you will need to do.

A brief Redirect screen should appear, and then a Congratulations screen telling you that your Username and Passcode information is verified by the site.
