Set SecurID token PIN via the internet

You can use this method to set your Personal Identification Number (PIN) from an internet connection. These steps use the site http://news.peoplesoft.com.

Important notes:

If you have previously set up a PIN for your token, these steps will fail. If you cannot remember your PIN, open a NorthStar ticket to have the PIN reset.
You CANNOT use someone else's token to set your PIN. You must use the token that was issued to you.
Your network logon name must match your logon name for VPN.
You may use these steps with any machine with the appropriate browser and access to the internet. The machine does not have to be connected to the PeopleSoft network.

Follow these steps to set your PIN:

Think of a PIN before you start. PINs must contain 4 to 8 characters; numbers and/or letters are acceptable.
Launch the Internet Browser on the machine and go to http://news.peoplesoft.com.
Enter your "Username" (should be the same as your network logon name), and the 6-digit number showing on the token's screen in the "PASSCODE" field. (It is recommended to wait until the token is displaying 6 bars before logging in.)
Click Send.
The "RSA SecurID New PIN Request" screen appears. Enter the PIN you decided upon in the New PIN: field.
Enter the PIN again in the Verify New PIN: field and click Send.
The " RSA SecurID PASSCODE Request" screen appears. Wait for the number to change on your token.
READ THIS CAREFULLY: Enter your PIN and the new number on your token (no spaces in between).

Example: If you chose "orange" as your PIN and the number displayed on your token is 299595, you would enter orange299595 in the PASSCODE field.

Click Send.

You should get a brief Redirect screen, and then a Congratulations! It works! screen telling you that you successfully logged on with your token.
