How to tell if your P: drive is properly mapped and accessible

VPN users will not get a P: drive mapped for them. They have to map the drive manually (see Eureka! document 50003 — How to map a drive letter - P: drive.)

Drive properly mapped:

Your P: drive should be mapped to a current network file server. To view your mapped network drives and check their mappings:

Launch My Computer. A list of drives should appear.
Look for the P: drive - is it listed? If so, make sure that the drive is properly mapped.
- The P: drive should be "peoplenet32 on [servername]". For more details, see Eureka! document 50003 — How to map a drive letter - P: drive.
- You may need to place your mouse over some of the icons to see the whole name and letter of the drives.

Determine whether the drive is accessible:

While in My Computer, double-click on the P: drive icon. A list of folders should appear. If the drive is not accessible, you will receive an appropriate message.

Note: If you are running Windows 2000, a red " x" below the drive icon (picture) does not necessarily mean that the drive is inaccessible. Be sure to double-click on the icon to test the drive's accessibility.
