Accessing an FTP site using Internet Explorer versions 5.5 or 6
The difficulty you are experiencing is that you are having problems accessing a secure FTP site ( i.e., one that requires login information such as a username and password). Either you get the error The page cannot be displayed or the Login As option no longer appears under the File menu in Internet Explorer version 5.5.
To solve this, you need to change a setting in Internet Explorer version 5.5. Follow the steps below. If you are uncomfortable with any of the steps, please contact Technical Support Operations , tell them this document number, and they will go through the steps with you:
Launch Internet Explorer version 5.5.
Click on the Tools menu.
Click on Internet Options...
Click on the Advanced tab.
Scroll down the Settings box, in the Browsing section until you see Enable folder view for FTP sites.
Make sure a checkmark appears in the box next to that choice.
Click OK. It may take a few moments for the settings to change.
Close Internet Explorer. Make sure to close ALL open browser windows.
Launch Internet Explorer again and try to log onto the FTP and transfer files.
You should be able to use the Login As... feature to access the PeopleSoft secure FTP site.
