ERROR: System cannot log you on now because...domain...not available - check domain

Document number: 55073

If you receive the error message The system cannot log you on now because the domain xxx is not available, when trying to log onto the network, you may be trying to log onto the wrong networking domain.

Generally, there is one one domain that you  as a PeopleSoft employee may log into, the PEOPLESOFT domain. If the PEOPLESOFT domain does not appear in the "Domain" box on the log on screen, click on the drop-down list for the Domain: field and choose " PEOPLESOFT" from the list.

If you are a legacy PeopleSoft employee trying to RAS into the network, be sure to log onto the network from the logon screen. When presented with the Logon Information screen, click the box next to Logon using Dial-Up Connection (Windows 2000) so that a checkmark appears and then click OK to dial into the network (click to see image: Click for screen shot).

Once you choose the correct domain, you should no longer encounter the error. If you continue having problems you are probably not getting a proper network connection. See Eureka! document 55074 — ERROR: System cannot log you on...domain xxx is not available - check connection for more information.
