The install process supports only the following machines (with limitation noted)

• Tecra 8200, 9000*, 9100, M1
  • * Not all Tecra 9000's the enterprise are equipped with a WiFi card. If the button above stops and says that the machine has no wireless card, it likely does not
• Portege 2000, 2010, R100
• ThinkPad X31, T40, T41

  Note: Windows 2000 machines must have Service Pack 4 installed in order to install the wireless drivers. To determine what Service Pack is currently installed on your machine, see Eureka! document 69035 — How to find out what Windows Service Pack is loaded.

Wireless support is limited to supporting the installation and configuration of the PeopleSoft-provided wireless driver, client software, and ensuring the wireless connection is functioning. See Eureka! document 54201 — TSO Wireless (WiFi) Support Policy for a listing of what is and is not supported relative to wireless connectivity.

You can get the Wireless install package from the Software Library:

1. Launch Lotus Notes, then open the Software Library by clicking the bookmark link.

2. You may need to look in your databases folder for the Software library bookmark .

• If you don't have the Software Library bookmark see document 16250 — How to add the Software Library database link to Lotus Notes for instructions on installing the Software library bookmark.

3. Click the Standard Software Package Installs icon.

4. Scroll until you see the WiFi 802.11 wireless ethernet install page, and double-click on it to open it.

5. Read the information on that page.

6. Click the Install WiFi button.

Enable the Wireless Antennae. Leaving Wireless Enabled consumes power and may interfere with other network connections. You should not use wireless when other network connections are available, so you should turn off wireless when you are not using it.

On the Toshiba machines this is a manual switch.

• Toshiba Portege R100, 2000 and 2010 it is on the right edge of the machine, near the front.
• Toshiba Tecra 8200, 9000, 9100, M1 it is on the front of the machine.

On the IBM it is a keyboard or software switch.

• IBM X31, T40 and T41
  Press the { fn}+{ F5} keys. If that does not work:
  In the system tray it may look like this: (radio is off) (radio is on, not connected to network).
1. right-click the icon in the system tray.
2. Select Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2100 LAN 3B Mini PCI Adapter.
3. Select Switch Radio On

If you don't see the system tray icon:

1. Go to Start, select Programs, select Intel Network Adapters, select Intel(R) PROSet for Wireless.
2. Next to Switch radio, click the button for on.

When you switch off the radio it is normal to get a message Local Area Connection Network cable unplugged.
