TSO Remote Access Support
In an ongoing effort to provide you up-to-date, comprehensive information about network connectivity to the PeopleSoft network, this document outlines the available connectivity options to you as they exist today, and the description of how you can obtain support for each available type of connection to the PeopleSoft network.
Also, please see the Corporate Remote Access Policy on Planet PeopleSoft (you may need to log into Planet first to see this link).
Each of the available connectivity options are listed below, and each option discusses support information to ensure that you receive the quickest response to your issues and requests for information.
All network office connections, RAS and iPass connectivity is fully supported internally by Technical Support Operations (TSO).
RAS connectivity is directly available within the country of all major PeopleSoft offices. For calls from outside of these countries, a toll is charged to your phone card or local number.
iPass connectivity is a third-party application that lets you dial-up to an internet connection through a network of worldwide internet service providers (ISPs). iPass, used with the Cisco VPN client, lets you connect to the PeopleSoft network from over 45 different different countries anywhere in the world, without using RAS to directly to connect into a RAS dial-up server.

Virtual Private Networking (VPN)
Virtual Private Networking provides you with the ability to use a personal, non-PeopleSoft internet connection to securely connect to the PeopleSoft network. VPN is intended for users who have a need for a faster connection to the PeopleSoft network than is available using RAS.
You must have a standard supported version of the VPN client software on your machine. As of September 30, 2004, Cisco VPN Client version 4.0.4(D) is the standard supported version of VPN client software. If you are on an earlier version, please update your software as soon as possible. See Eureka! document 54102 — Upgrade or install Cisco VPN Client software. To find out what version of the Cisco VPN software you are running, see Eureka! document 55175 — How to tell what version of Cisco VPN software you are using.
