The following error may occur during your VPN session using the Cisco VPN client software:

ERROR: Remote Peer has Terminated Connection

This error will occur in any of the following circumstances:

• Your session has exceeded the maximum connection time. The VPN session time limit is a continuous connection of 10 hours.
• There has been no activity during your VPN session for the last 45 minutes.
• The VPN server you are connected to may have experienced a problem, causing your connection to be dropped.
• You may be in the process of establishing a PIN number for the first time. (If so, continue with the instructions in the documentation, which is also available in Eureka! document 55147 — Set SecurID token PIN via the internet.)

The VPN server will end your VPN session and display the message above. You may click OK to the message box (if one appears), and you will be able to reconnect to the VPN server. (There are two Cisco VPN servers, so even if the message was a result of a server problem, reconnecting will reroute your connection to the other server.)
