How to log in using the Cisco VPN client
If this is the first time you are trying to connect to the Cisco VPN client, you will need to create a PIN (Personal Identification Number) before logging in for the first time. See Eureka! document 55147 — Set SecurID token PIN via the internet .
The following conditions must be met before you can log in via VPN:
Click on the version you are running for login instructions:
To log in using version 4.0.4(D):
Log onto the Internet with your PeopleSoft machine.
You will not be able to connect while connected to the PeopleSoft network in the office or while using a PeopleSoft RAS server.

After entering the username and password information, click OK.
The Cisco VPN client will authenticate your login information, and once you connect, you will receive a "Cisco Systems VPN Client" window. This window contains an acknowledgment that unauthorized access is prohibited. (Click this icon for a screenshot:

Continue to accept the terms of use. If you do not agree, you may click
Disconnect.
Your computer should be connected to the PeopleSoft network via VPN.

Note: As of September 30, 2004, Cisco VPN Client version 4.0.4(D) is the standard supported version of VPN client software. If you are on an earlier version, please update your software as soon as possible. See Eureka! document 54102 — Upgrade or install Cisco VPN Client software. To log in using version 3.x:
Log onto the Internet with your PeopleSoft machine.
You will not be able to connect while connected to the PeopleSoft network in the office or while using a PeopleSoft RAS server.
The "Cisco Systems VPN Client screen" appears. Click on the Connect button.
Password. This is your VPN password (PIN) and number currently displayed on the face of your RSA token. (Example: If your password is "orange" and the number displayed on your token is 299595, enter orange299595 for the password.)
After entering the username and password information, click OK.
The Cisco VPN client will authenticate your login information, and once you connect, you will receive a "Cisco Systems VPN Client" window. This window contains an acknowledgment that unauthorized access is prohibited. You must click Continue to accept the terms of use. (If you do not agree, you may click Disconnect.)
Your computer should be connected to the PeopleSoft network via VPN.
