Verifing the Stateful Firewall option is not enabled in Cisco VPN

The following steps will walk you through checking to see if the Stateful Firewall option is enabled in Cisco VPN. If the Stateful Firewall is enabled it could create problems accessing network resources even if you are not currently connected with VPN.

  1. On your desk top double-click your VPN dialer or IPSec VPN dialer, a yellow padlock icon.

    If you do not have the icon on your desktop;

    1. Click Start.

    2. Click Programs.

    3. Click Cisco Systems VPN Client.

    4. Click VPN dialer or IPSec VPN dialer.

  2. In the window Cisco Systems VPN Client, click Op tions.

  3. Verify that there is NOT a checkmark next to Stateful Firewall (Always On).

  4. If there is a checkmark click on Stateful Firewall (Always On) to turn it off.
