Configure Desktop login settings
Modify Blackberry Desktop settings
Set up Wireless Reconciliation
From your
Start Menu select
Run , in the dialog box type
\\psh-blkberry-01\Desktop Software
Select
OK .
Launch the installation software by double-clicking on
BlackBerry_Desktop_Software_v3[1].6_Service_Pack_2.exe
After the files are unzipped the installation will start Automatically.
When the Install Shield Wizard
opens, select
Next.
Select your language preference.
Select Next .
Select
Yes on the software license agreement.
Enter
your name and
PeopleSoft, Inc.
Select Next.
Keep the default of “Blackberry Enterprise Server or ...” and select Next.
Keep the default of “Lotus Domino” and select
Next .
Change the Destination Folder to:
c:\apps\RIM\BlackBerry
Select Next .
Keep the default of "Blackberry" Program Folder. Select
Next .
Keep the default Shortcut Installation Options. Select
Next .
The Installation will proceed.
When complete select
Finish .
The Blackberry Desktop Manager will launch.
The Blackberry Desktop Manger should be open. If it is not find it on the desktop or Start menu and double-click to open it.
Enter your
Lotus Notes Password.
You should see a button marked "
Advanced << " if it is marked
"Advanced >>" then click on it to open the Advanced Options.
For Blackberry Server enter
CN=Blackberry1/O=PeopleSoft
(it is the letter
"O" in
O=Peoplesoft
not a zero
"0" )
Deselect
Use the default Notes INI file
then enter:
c:\winnt\notes.ini
If you receive an error that the notes.ini file is invalid then enter:
c:\apps\notes\notes.ini
Select OK .
Ignore the "Connection Settings" warning message that will appear. Select
OK .
Use the USB cable to connect the handheld device to your computer.
From the Desktop Manager's menu bar select
Options menu, choose
Connection Settings and select
Detect
Select
OK on the dialog box "Please ensure that the handheld is connected properly".
When the PIN is detected you will get a Success dialog box. Select
OK and then
OK again to close.
A Redirector Settings dialog box will prompt you to update the current encryption key. Click OK. You will need to move your mouse around your screen to generate a new encryption key.
From the desktop manager double-click on
Intellisync
Check the boxes for
Reconcile email ,
Synchronize PIM and
Update handheld’s date and time .
Single click the Configure PIM ... button.
Address Book, Calendar and Tasks should each be checked. Do not select Memo Pad.
Select Address Book . Click the Choose button and then select Lotus Notes 5.0/6.0.
Select OK .
Select Calendar . Click the Choose button and then select BlackBerry Wireless Sync.
Select OK .
Select Tasks . Click the Choose button and then select Lotus Notes 5.0/6.0.
Do not select Memo Pad .
Select OK to close Handheld Configuration.
Single-click the
Auto start ... button.
Reconcile email ,
Synchronize PIM and
Update handheld’s date and time should each be checked. Select
OK
Select Close on Intellisync Dialog box.
From the Desktop Manager double-click the
Redirector Settings
Check the box for
Redirect incoming messages to your handheld . Uncheck the box for
Disable email redirection while your handheld is connected .
Select the
Filters tab.
CC Default and
To& BCC Default should be checked and set to forward. Verify the
Forward messages to the handheld is selected .
Select OK , make sure not to close BlackBerry Desktop Manage but minimize it.
From the main menu on the device choose Messages and click the track wheel.
Click the Track Wheel again to bring up the menu, scroll down to Options and click the track wheel.
Scroll down until you see the option for “Wireless Reconcile:” enable this option if it isn't’t already turned on.
Scroll to “Delete On:” and click the track wheel and select
Change Option . Select the appropriate setting you prefer. Most common is to set the Delete On: to Mailbox & Handheld. This option will delete email out of your lotus inbox and from the handheld. (note that this option is not real time. Deletes are batched on the server and deleted every 10-15 minutes).
Power device off and on
From the main menu on the device, scroll to the Wireless icon and verify the wireless is turned on . If not, click the track wheel to turn it on.
