To resolve this issue follow these steps to reinstall Microsoft Installer.
Make sure you have the most current Microsoft Windows Service Pack. See Eureka! document 69035 — How to find out what Windows Service Pack is loaded. For more information about installing the latest Windows Service Pack, see Eureka! document 69026 — Update Service Pack.
Click this link or Open Lotus Notes, then open the Software Library by clicking the bookmark link.
You may need to look in your databases folder
for the Software library bookmark
.
If you don't have the Software Library bookmark see document 16250 — How to add the Software Library database link to Lotus Notes for instructions on installing the Software library bookmark.
Click the Standard Software Package Installs icon.
Scroll until you see the entry Microsoft Installer, MSI and double-click on it to open it.
Once you have reinstalled the Microsoft Installer, the error may no longer appear.
There are additional steps you can try with the assistance of Technical Support Operations. Submit a NorthStar ticket, including the error message you are receiving, the steps you have tried, and the results.
