Following installing new software you may receive an error similar to: The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running Windows in safe mode, or if the the Windows Installer is not correctly installed.
This error is probably the result of a damaged registration service.
To resolve this issue:
After you log on,click on Start.
Select Run ...
In the box next to "Open:" type msiexec /unregister and press Enter.
In the box next to "Open:" type msiexec /regserver and press Enter.
There are additional steps you can try with the assistance of Technical Support Operations. Submit a NorthStar ticket, including the error message you are receiving, the steps you have tried, and the results.
