Windows cannot end this program.
The message " Windows cannot end this program. It may need more time to complete an operation. To return to Windows and check the status of the program, click Cancel. If you choose to end the program immediately, you will lose any unsaved data. To end the program now, click End now. " occurs under a variety of circumstances.
The first step is to make sure all programs are closed. Wait for 15 seconds, then click the "End Now" button.
Second, deterimine if there is a specific program causing the problem. If the message refers to C:\winnt\system32\cmd.exe you should look for a "DOS" type program that is not closing properly. Since there are no such programs that are within the scope of Techincal Support Services it is up to you to identify and correct the problem. If you can't identify it, or correct it follow the steps in document 29008 — Various Fatal, Stop and Exception Errors.
If this did not correct the problem then you will need open a NorthStar ticket to make an appointment for service. Be sure to include your contact phone number. Describe the problem in detail, especially the steps you took to try to correct the problem. You will be contacted by the appropriate party.
