Palm error: Insufficient memory to proceed

Document number: 29026

After setting up Intellisych you may get an error like Insufficient memory to proceed. This can caused by using an incorrect password, making a change to your password, pointing to the wrong mail server, pointing to the wrong location for the notes.ini file or configuring to the wrong version of Lotus Notes. Note: The file notes.ini should be in your c:winnt folder. Go and see if it is there before starting. If it is not there, then put a copy of notes.ini in your c:winnt folder.

  1. Double Click on the Intellisync Configuration shortcut on your desktop.

    • If the Registration box opens get rid of the Registration box by clicking the box not to show again and Register later.

  2. The Intellisync Configuration Manager should open.

  3. Click on Mail, then click on Choose.... The Choose Translator window will open. Click once on Lotus Notes R5.0 to select it. This will set you up to synchronize your Lotus Notes R5 Mail with the Palm Pilot's Mail.

    • If you don't want to synchronize your mail  choose <none>, click OK and continue with step 9.

  4. Select Options…. Verify that the location of the notes.ini is correct, and if not make the correction.

  5. Click OK to close that window, and OK again to return to the list of applications.

  6. Enter your Lotus Notes password at the prompt, Click OK.

  7. Click OK to close that window, and OK again to return to the list of applications.

  8. Make sure that any databases you don't have are unchecked in the application list so that Intellisynch will not try to synchronize them.

  9. Click on OK to close the configuration manager.

Your Lotus Notes should now synchronize properly. If that does not correct your problem try re-configuring all of the options following the instructions in 29025 — Unable to write or update application data.
