Symptoms:

The following error appears while in Documentum: Unable to initialize the Documentum Foundation Class Library, please contact your System Administrator. An error occurred while initializing services needed to run the Documentum desktop client.

Resolution:

1. Select and copy the following string:

C:\Apps\Documentum\Shared\dfc.jar;C:\Apps\Documentum\Shared\dart.jar

2. Right click the My Computer icon on your desktop.

3. Select Properties.

4. Select the Advanced tab.

5. Click Environment variables.

6. Under System Variables highlight CLASSPATH.

7. Paste the copied string (from Step 1). Verify that the following string appears under System Variables:

C:\Apps\Documentum\Shared\dfc.jar;C:\Apps\Documentum\Shared\dart.jar

If you continue to receive this error, submit a NorthStar service ticket or contact Technical Support Operations .
