Procurement justification error message
Symptom:
Cause:
You have to enter an explanation (justification) for all requisitions. The buyer can view this field, and it appears on the internal copy of the purchase order. It also appears on the workflow approval pages for the approver. However, the vendor's copy of the PO (purchase order) does not include the justification though.
Before submitting requisitions, you should enter the justification comments by clicking the Justification/Summary page. If you forgot to enter justification when submitting, you will receive error message saying so.
The comment on the first page is different from the justification comment that you are required when you submit the requisition. The comment section may include other information placed automatically by the system or typed in by the user to give more information about the requisition such as quote number or quote dates. This is there for your information but does not give the buyer or approvers any information about how the goods or services will be used.
Resolution:
Follow the steps for entering a new requisition as stated in Eureka! document 17202 — How to Enter a New Requisition. When you get to the Summary Page, you will have to enter a justification statement before the requisition can continue. Click here for the information
