ERROR: This entry conflicts with an existing entry or your free time schedule...
The calendar preference to automatically check for time conflicts will inform the user if a new entry conflicts with a scheduled meeting or if it is out of the specified free time. If a conflict is found when scheduling a calendar entry, the Lotus Notes message "This entry conflicts with an existing entry or your free time schedule. Create anyway?" will appear. The entry can still be created which may result in overlapping meetings or an entry that appears outside of the specified free time.
To clear the message, click Yes to create the entry or click No so the entry is not created.
By default, the preference is not enabled and all calendar entries will be placed on the calendar with no warning of conflicts. It is recommended that this preference be enabled so that a user does not accidentally become double-booked.
For additional information about specifying free time, see Eureka! document 16052 — How to set the free time schedule in Lotus Notes.
A calendar preference can be set so that a user will be notified of conflicting meetings or entries scheduled outside of the specified free time.
To set the calendar preference to inform a user of schedule conflicts:
The message will now appear when trying to schedule a meeting that conflicts with another or one that is outside of the specified free time if that option was selected.
