ERROR: File does not exist: mail.box
The error message "File does not exist: mail.box" occurs when trying to compose a memo in Island mode and the outgoing mailbox (mail.box) has been deleted while in Island mode or it has become corrupt.
When working in Island mode in Lotus Notes, all outgoing mail is saved in the outgoing mail box (mail.box) until you are connected to the network again in Office mode. Once you connect to the network, you will be asked if you'd like to send the mail held in the outgoing mailbox.
Typically, if the outgoing mailbox has been deleted, a new one is automatically created the next time you access Lotus Notes in Island mode. If a new outgoing mailbox does not automatically get created, you will need to create one yourself.
