The error The System Administrator has set policies to prevent this installation can be resolved with a button in the Software Library. To solve this, follow these steps:

1. Open Lotus Notes, then open the Software Library by clicking the bookmark link.

2. You may need to look in your databases folder for the Software library bookmark .

3. If you don't have the Software Library bookmark see document 16250 — How to add the Software Library database link to Lotus Notes for instructions on installing the Software library bookmark.

4. Click the Standard Software Package Installs icon.

5. Scroll until you see the entry Microsoft Office - All Versions and double-click on it to open it.

6. Scroll down to the button labeled Office 2000 Policy Error Fix. Read the instructions associated with that button.

7. Click on that button.

8. After you run that button, reinstall Office 2000 by clicking on the button labeled Office 2000 Updates & Patches.

• That button is above the Policy Error Fix button.

9. If you are not prompted to reboot your machine, reboot it at this time.

 

Office 2000 should be successfully reinstalled on your Windows 2000 machine.
