If you get the WinInstall error message Error creating temporary directory to unload P:\packages\apps6\...\...\*.nai: Diagnostic information: dwError=5(0x00000005) try reloading the desired application manually from the Software Library.

If manually loading the software does not work, contact Technical Support Operations to escalate this problem to the Applications Technology Group.

Generally, you can tell which application was attempting to load by the path indicated in the error message. PeopleNet Updates are generally identified by the letters "PNU" appearing in the path. Click on the method you would like to use:

PNU Control (for reloading PeopleNet Updates only)

Follow these steps to reload a PeopleNet Update:

1. Close down all other applications.

2. Click on the Start menu. Then click on P rograms, then PS WinApps, and finally, PNU Control (the smiling face icon).
   • You should be running PNU Control version 3.1.1.
3. Click on Re-Run A ny PeopleNet Update. Double-click on the PeopleNet Update you wish to rerun.

4. • If the PeopleNet Update you wish to run does not appear on the list, click on R un Pending PeopleNet UPdates Now. If the update still does not appear, download the PeopleNet Update. To access the Software Library, click here.

 

The error message should no longer appear.

Most software downloads can be found in the Lotus Notes Software Library.

Using the Software Library from your Favorites portfolio:

Follow these steps to find an entry in the Software Library:

1. Open the Software Library by single clicking the icon on your Favorites.

2. Select  V iew from the menu bar.

3. Select W orkstation from the drop down menu and select B y Title from the next drop down menu.

4. Scroll until you see the entry for the software you wish to install. Double-click on that entry.

5. Follow the directions on the page to install the software.WinInstall may take a few minutes to finish installing.

 

The error message should not appear when you install the software this way.

Using the Software Library from your Lotus Notes workspace:

Follow these steps to find an entry in the Software Library:

1. Open the Software Library by double clicking the icon on your Lotus Notes workspace.

2. Click the Standard Software Package Installs icon.

3. Click By Package Name. (This is the default view.)

4. Scroll until you see the entry for the software you wish to install. Double-click on that entry.

5. Follow the directions on the page to install the software.WinInstall may take a few minutes to finish installing.

 

The error message should not appear when you install the software this way.
