When editing an existing customer record or entering a new customer record, the Customer1 user has received the error "
Message not found. Customer must have one primary address."
This can happen for a couple of reasons:
- You didn't designate an address as the primary location for the customer.
- You designated multiple addresses as the primary location across different address sequences.
In the Address Tab, note that you can have only one primary location across different address sequences. To illustrate, let's say you created an address in Pleasanton as Address Sequence 1, and designated it as Primary Location. Then you added another Address Sequence, Address Sequence 2, and added an address in Livermore. You cannot assign the Livermore address as Primary because there is already a primary address in Address Sequence 1 (Pleasanton).
To resolve the problem:
- Go to the
Address Tab of the
Maintain Customer page. Because the address record is effective dated, you need to be in
Correction Mode to make the changes.
- Click on the
Correct History button at the lower left side of the page, and then assign at least one address as the Primary by checking the
Primary Location checkbox. Uncheck any other Primary locations in other sequences. Click on the
> arrows in the upper right corner of the
Address Information and
Address Detail sections to scroll across the addresses.
- Save the customer record.
If there is no existing customer address, be sure to create one.
This should correct the problem.
