How to set your Home Page in Internet Explorer

Document number: 19039

You can set Internet Explorer to open to the Planet logon whenever you open your browser, to show a blank page, or to open to whatever web page you choose. The solution below will give steps without Internet Explorer open to maximize the chances of solving your particular problem.

To set your Home page in Internet Explorer:

  1. Click on your Start button.

  2. Select Settings, then Control Panel.

  3. Double-click on the Internet Options icon to open it.

  4. On the General tab, under Home page is an address box.

  5. If you want to open to the browser to Planet use http://planet.peoplesoft.com, otherwise use the URL of the page you want, or click on the "Use Blank" button if you don't want any page loaded..

  6. Click on OK.

Your browser should now open to the home page you selected.

If you try this and the page gets reset to something you did not choose you may have picked up a problem application that installs its own tool bar, search page etc and trys to prevent you from making changes. To resolve this issue see Eureka! document 19036 — Home Page Setting Changes Unexpectedly, or You Cannot Change Your Home Page Setting
