Internet Explorer Security Warning on the PeopleSoft Intranet
At times when using Microsoft Internet Explorer in the PeopleSoft Intranet environment you may be asked to install and download applets or other web page add-ins. The request will cause Internet Explorer to generate a Security Warning. The Security Warning page you see will look similar to this:
This identifies and authenticates that the content you will receive is from the stated source.
There is a check box that by selecting it will " Always trust content from . . .". By selecting this box, you will not receive this Security Warning again on add-ins from the same source. The two sources you can "always trust" are Vantive Corporation (Vantive, Customer Connection, NorthStar, etc.) and PeopleSoft. If you have questions about other sources you can call Technical Support Operations for guidance. In general if you are on a PeopleSoft intranet site you should trust the source and accept the download.
If you click on the No button, you will receive an error and the page may not work properly.
If you click on the Yes button, you will allow the downloads for your current session only to continue.
Selecting the Always trust content from ... box, will allow the download for the current session and future sessions will not receive this Security Warning message again from add-ins from the same source.
If you once selected "No" you can allow the necessary applets or add-ins to be downloaded by simply closing Internet Explorer and then reopening it, but this time check the Always trust content from... box and Yes to download the necessary files. If that does not resolve the problem click here for further instructions.
Your intranet site should now be able to download the necessary applets or add-ins and you should no longer receive an error.
First try clearing your cache:
Close Internet Explorer.
Open Internet Explorer.
From the menu bar select Tools, and then Internet Options....
Click on the General tab.
In the Temporary Internet Files area click on Delete Files....
Click on OK to clear your cache of all temporary internet files.
Return to your original page. You will get prompted again for the certification, select Always trust content from... and Yes to download the necessary files.

If you continue to have a problem try deleting the cookie:
Close Internet Explorer.
Open Windows Explorer.
For Windows NT4 navigate to c:\winnt\Profiles\(your username)\Cookies.

For Windows 2000 navigate to c:\Documents and Settings\(your username)\Cookies.

Locate the file
yourusername@peoplesoft[x].txt (there is usually a 1 in the [] but it could be any number) or
yourusername@vanweb[x].txt For example:
Delete the file.
Note: You can delete the entire contents of the Cookie directory, but that may affect other sites. In most cases you won't be denied access to the other sites, but you may need to re-register or otherwise re-establish the information stored in the cookie file. Try deleting only the newest cookies before deleting everything in the folder.
Re-enter Internet Explorer and return to the same page. You will get prompted again for the certification, select Always trust content from ... and Yes to download the necessary files.
