Navigating Planet PeopleSoft

Navigation Overview

Planet PeopleSoft is PeopleSoft's portal, which provides access to PeopleSoft's many intranet sites. All intranet content is divided into categories that are displayed in PlanetNavigator.

MyPlanet, your personalized Planet page, is comprised of a header, footer and pagelets, the sections of myPlanet that contain applications or content, such as PlanetNavigator. You can customize myPlanet to include only the pagelets that interest you. See Eureka! document 19023 — Personalizing Planet for more information on customizing myPlanet.

Navigation is consistent across all Planet sites. Each site contains the following navigation elements:

Planet header - provides a link to quickly return to your Planet homepage.
Breadcrumbs - let you quickly see where you are within the site structure and provide links to return to the site homepage.
Left navigation categories - allow you to see how the site is organized and provide links to the major content categories. Simply click a left navigation category to expand the list of available links for that category.
Global navigation links - appear under the left navigation and allow you to quickly access important content or applications.
Some sites also contain navigation links on the right side of the page. These links provide quick access to commonly used information or applications.

PlanetNavigator

PlanetNavigator contains a list of the sites accessible through Planet PeopleSoft, organized by category. To view the links under a category, simply click the navigation arrow next to the category to expand the list.

PlanetNavigator has been reorganized to simplify navigation. The following are the new PlanetNavigator categories:

Employee Resources - contains links to sites commonly used by all PeopleSoft employees, such as Human Resources, Meetings, Purchasing, Travel & Expense, and Training.
Applications - contains links to PeopleSoft internal applications such as Customer1 and Psynergy/FSCM.
Communities - contains links to community sites such as Field Connection and PGS InfoSphere.
Company Resources - contains links to company resources such as the organization chart.

Map

Click the Map link located in the Planet PeopleSoft header or the View Site Details link located at the top of PlanetNavigator to see a list of the categories, items, and their descriptions.

View A-Z listing

Click the View A-Z listings link located at the top of PlanetNavigator to see a list of intranet content in alphabetical order.

Search

You can search all intranet content or you can search a specific site. To search all Planet content, select Planet PeopleSoft in the Search box. To search a specific site, select that site from the Search dropdown or navigate to that site, then perform your search.
