How to link documents within Documentum
Documentum allows you to either copy a document, making an exact duplicate that will be unaffected by future edits, or link a document, allowing you to view and/or edit the same document from multiple locations. For more information on copying files, see Eureka! document 18087 — Copying/Moving documents and folders in Documentum.
To link a document:
Open Windows Explorer or Desktop Client and log in to the appropriate docbase. For more information, see Eureka! document 18081 — How to log in to Documentum.
Navigate to the desired docbase and/or folder. For more information, see Eureka! document 18243 — How to browse or search in Documentum.
Select the document you would like to link to from another location.
Select the File menu, then select Copy.
Navigate to the cabinet/folder where you would like to place the link.
Select the File menu, then select Paste as Link.
This does not paste duplicate copies of the file, it places links to the original file in multiple locations.
