Internal Transfer Information
To sustain retention of valuable, experienced employees Internal Transfers are common at PeopleSoft and allow employees to grow their skills and apply them in new areas within the company. There are two types of Internal Transfers; transfers associated with a job requesition, and transfers resulting from an internal restructuring.
Transfers involving additional headcount or vacated existing positions should have a requisition created. Most of the responsibility regarding a transfer tied to a Job Requisition lies on your recruiter. Managers should work closely with their recruiters through the entire candidate search period. If an internal candidate has been identified, you should immediately notify your manager, the recruiter, and your HR Business Partner to determine an appropriate offer. Verbal offers should not be extended without notification of the recruiter.
Unlike the transfer process in past HRDB versions, the manager will not be responsible for completing a Job Change Request (JCR). The transfer occurs automatically after the recruiter has successfully completed the offer details in HRDB and has received all necessary interview evaluations from the interviewers. When the transfer is complete, the job requisition is closed out and the employees job record updated to reflect the changes.
Transfers involving moving of headcount or changing the attributes of a current occupied position due to restructuring should be completed using the Job Change Application.
