How to add the Media Library database link to Lotus Notes

The Media Library contains documents with on a wide vareity of topics including FAQS and information on standard software packages.  The Media Library is a database accessed through Lotus Notes.  The instructions below include both opening the Media Library database and creating a bookmark for future use.

To open the Media Library database and create a bookmark for future use:

  1. Open Lotus Notes.

  2. Click the down arrow to the right of the Search icon (magnifying glass) search.gif (433 bytes) on the upper right hand corner of your screen .

  3. Select Find Database from the drop down menu. The Database Catalog search page will open.

  4. In the box to the right of "Search for" type media library .

  5. Click the Search button.

  6. A list of the databases relating to the text "media library" will be generated. Scroll down the list to locate the server nearest to you.

  7. Click on the blue book icon booklink.gif (129 bytes) to open the database.

  8. With the database open, click on Create in the menu bar and then Bookmark

  9. In the Name section type Media Library .

  10. Click once on Databases in the Add to section to select that location to store your Media Library bookmark.

  11. Click OK and the bookmark will be created in the location you have specified.

 

By following the instructions above you have both opened the Media Library database for current use and created a link for quick access in the future.

 


Verify your Catalog/domain search server

  1. From the menu bar click on File, then Pre ferences.

  2. Select Location Preferences ...

  3. Click on the Servers tab.

  4. In the space next to Catalog/domain search server: type PSSearch/PeopleSoft

  5. Click on Save and Close.

Your search icon should now open the proper search database.
