Some User Preferences such as having your icons in color or automatically locking your Notes ID may not automatically be configured when the Lotus Notes client is installed.
To set User Preferences:
- Select
F
ile from the menu bar.
- Select
P
references from the drop down list and select
U
ser Preferences... from the next drop down list.

Basics (default) screen:

Icon color sche
me: Click the down arrow and select
Full color.

Lock
ID after ___ minutes of inactivity: Enter
10 in the window.

Additional Options:

Right double-click closes window: Scroll up in the Additional Options window and single click on
Right double-click closes window to allow a right double-click to close the active window.
- Retain View column sorting: Single click on Retain View column sorting to retain sort preferences for the mail file other than the default such as receiving new mail at the top. For additional information, see Eureka! document

Mail and News tab (third icon on the far left):

ave sent mail (Sending section): Click the down arrow and select
Always prompt.

Sig
n sent mail (Sending section): Click in the box so that a
check mark appears.
- Click
OK.
- A dialog box will appear that says
"Some preferences will not take effect until next time the program is started". Click
OK.
After Lotus Notes is closed down and re-launched, the User Preferences will be set.
