Options for the audio portion of a Enterprise Webcast (Interwise) iMeeting
The audio portion of a meeting can be done directly from the iMeeting leader's computer using a headset and microphone or a telephone.
If using the computer's audio, the following should be kept in mind:
The volume and microphone level should be tested prior to hosting a meeting. For additional information, see Eureka! document 16194 - How to test the audio set up for a PeopleSoft Enterprise Webcast iMeeting.
It is highly recommended that the iMeeting leader use a headset and external microphone for the best sound quality. The headset and microphone will need to be purchased separately. The iMeeting leader should check with their manager prior to purchasing any external equipment before requesting reimbursement.
The sound quality using the built-in microphone on a laptop computer is sufficient for a participant to ask questions or add comments. It is not sufficient for the iMeeting leader's use.
If a laptop is closed, the built-in microphone will no longer work.
All PeopleSoft built computers have a sound card with the exception of the Toshiba Equium desktop computers. A computer must have a sound card in order to use it for the audio portion of the iMeeting.
For information on scheduling an iMeeting, see Eureka! document 16184 — How to create an iMeeting via PeopleSoft Enterprise Webcast.
