The Lotus Notes mail file archive can be easily opened by clicking the file cabinet icon in the mail file. The icon will occasionally disappear from the mail file although the archive still exists and can be accessed. The icon will reappear after archiving one or more documents and closing then re-launching Lotus Notes.

To archive one document:

  1. Open the Lotus Notes mail file.

  2. Click in the column to the left of any document that can be archived so that a check mark appears.

  3. Select A ctions from the menu bar.

  4. Select Ar chive from the drop down list and select S elected Documents from the next drop down list.

  5. A message will appear that says, "Do you wish to archive the X selected documents now?" where X is the number of documents selected. Click Y es.

  6. Exit Lotus Notes after the document has been archived.

When Lotus Notes is re-launched, the archive (file cabinet) icon will appear in the mail file again. If the icon still does not appear, contact Technical Support Operations for further assistance.
