How to link to a Lotus Notes document from an Intranet web page

Document number: 16159

Information contained in a Lotus Notes document may need to be referred to within an Intranet web page. Instead of copying and pasting the entire content of the Notes document, a link to the document may be added to the web page instead.

To create a link to a Lotus Notes document from an Intranet web page:

  1. Open the Lotus Notes document that will be linked to.

  2. Right mouse click within the document and select Document Properties... from the drop down list.

  3. Click the < +> tab.

  4. Copy all of the information found within the Identifier: window by highlighting the entire field and holding the {Ctrl}+{C} keys down simultaneously.

  5. Paste the copied information as a link into the HTML document for the Intranet web page.

The link has been created.

NOTE: Links to Lotus Notes documents will only work if the user has access to the Lotus Notes database. If the user does not have proper access to the document, they will receive an error message.
