How to prompt for location when launching Lotus Notes

Document number: 16157

If two users are constantly switching between Notes ID's and either user will be launching Notes, the Prompt for Location User Preference should be selected. That way, when Notes is launched, the current user can select the appropriate location. This preference is also beneficial for a single user that frequently switches between the Office and Island location.

To set the Prompt for Location User Preference:

  1. Select F ile from the menu bar.

  2. Select Pre ferences from the drop down list and select U ser Preferences... from the next drop down list.

  3. Click in the box to the left of Prompt for location in the Startup Options section on the Basics page so that a check mark appears.

  4. Click OK.

The next time Notes is launched, the Choose Location window will pop up. Once the location is selected, the password prompt for the user defined for that location will pop up. After the correct password is entered for that user, Lotus Notes will open.
