How to troubleshoot Lotus Notes crashes

Document number: 16116

On occasion, a couple of files required to successfully launch or use Lotus Notes may become corrupt. If corruption has occurred, Notes may crash upon launching prior to the password prompt appearing or while working in the application. To resolve this issue, the qnc.exe file and the Lotus Notes cache (cache.dsk) must be deleted.

Deleting the qnc.exe file:   See Eureka! document 16117 — How to delete the qnc.exe file.

Deleting the Lotus Notes cache:   See Eureka! document 16107 — How to delete the Lotus Notes cache.

If Lotus Notes continues to crash after deleting the qnc.exe file and Lotus Notes cache, contact Technical Support Operations for further assistance.
