E-mail address to receive external mail in Lotus Notes

Document number: 16102

With the proper Internet e-mail address, messages can be received in Lotus Notes that have been sent from an external user. To receive e-mail from an external user , the person must use the following addressing convention:

The underscore must bridge the first and lastname without any spaces. The spelling of the name must match what is in your Person document in the Peoplesoft Directory.

Example:  trudy_test@peoplesoft.com

The underscore must bridge the first and lastname without any spaces and the period followed by the word "consultant" must be included or the e-mail will not be received. The spelling of the name MUST match what is in your Person document in the Peoplesoft Directory.

Example:  trudy_test.consultant@peoplesoft.com

If an external person contacts you and lets you know that they received a delivery failure when trying to send an e-mail message to you, it could be that your Internet mail address is incorrect in the PeopleSoft Directory or in your Personal Address Book. For additional information, see Eureka! document 26086 — User username (user_name@peoplesoft.com) not listed in public Name & Address Book.
