You can efficiently replicate your Lotus Notes mail file via iPass by changing the replication settings on the local replica of your mail file.  Selecting the Receive summary and 40KB of rich text setting makes replication quicker and more efficient because only text is replicated.  Attachments, graphics, sections and headers are not replicated. You no longer need to wait when a large attachment or graphic has been sent to you but you do not need to view it offline.

Note: Because only text is replicated, you will not receive attachments or graphics if they are needed.  In that case, you will need to detach the attachments or graphics from the server replica of your mail file to your hard drive. If an e-mail arrives that contains sections, the section information will also not be available.

To change the replication settings on your local mail file so that only text is replicated:

1. Click the Replicator bookmark from the bookmark bar.

2. Click the arrow to the right of your mail file icon.

3. Click the down arrow where it currently says Receive full documents.

4. Single click on Receive summary and 40KB of rich text to highlight it.

5. Click OK.

The replication setting has now been changed.  After the setting is changed, any new or modified documents replicating to your local mail file will be truncated to only include text.
