How to clear the cache in Internet Explorer
Clearing your Internet Browser's cache can increase available disk space, as well as solve errors related to previously cached pages. The cache is essentially a copy of each web page you have visited. Its purpose is to speed loading when you are moving back and forth between pages. Without the cache you would have to reload the page even if you left it for just long enough to check out a link. The cache allows the page to just reappear. This feature can, however, cause problems with some scripts. The first step is simply to try reloading by pressing the { F5} key. If that doesn't work deleting the temporary internet files will often resolve the problem. Deleting cookies and deleting the cache are two different steps and serve different purposes. Clearing the cache should always be tried before deleting cookies.
Choose the method you want to use to clear the cache:
Clear the memory and page cache using the Tools menu. This method is the simplest.
Clear the memory and page cache using the Internet Options in Control Panel. This method is basically the same as using the Tools menu but doesn't require opening up Internet Explorer.
Clear the memory and page cache manually in Windows 2000 This method is the most complete, and works when you can't open Internet Explorer..

Clear the memory and page cache using the Tools menu.
Open Internet Explorer.
Select Tools from the menu bar.
Select Internet Options ... from the drop down menu.
The Internet Options box will open to the General tab which is where you will be working.
In the Temporary Internet files section, click the Delete Files... button.
A pop up window will appear with the message "Delete all files in the Temporary Internet Files folder?" Click OK.
It is unnecessary to check the "Delete all offline content" box.
In the History section, click the Clear History button.
A pop up window will appear with the message "Delete all items in your History folder?" Click Yes
Click OK to close the Internet Options window.
The memory and disk caches have now been cleared in Internet Explorer.
To clear the cache using the Internet Options in Control Panel ::
Click on Start, then select Settings, then Control Panel.
Double-click the Internet Options icon to open it.
The Internet Options box will open to the General tab which is where you will be working.
In the Temporary Internet files section, click the Delete Files... button.
A pop up window will appear with the message "Delete all files in the Temporary Internet Files folder?" Click OK.
It is unnecessary to check the "Delete all offline content" box.
In the History section, click the Clear History button.
A pop up window will appear with the message "Delete all items in your History folder?" Click Yes

Right click on your start button.
Select Explore to open Windows Explorer
From the menu bar select Tools
Select Folder Options
Click on the View tab.
Select show hidden files and folders
Click OK
Navigate to C:\Documents and Settings{ yourname}\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
Click once in the right hand panel to activate it.
Press { Ctrl} + { a} to select everything in the folder.
Press { Delete} and confirm the delete.
