How to delete a local database replica in Lotus Notes

Document number: 16090

A local replica of a Lotus Notes database takes up space on your hard drive.  If a local replica is no longer needed, you should delete it to increase space on your hard drive.

To delete a local replica of a Lotus Notes database:

  1. Open the Lotus Notes workspace by clicking the Workspace bookmark in the Databases bookmark folder.

  2. Single click on the database icon for the database that will be deleted.

    • Be sure that the database icon shows that it is on Local meaning it is the local replica.

  3. Select File from the menu bar.

  4. Select Database from the drop down list and select Delete... from the next drop down list.

  5. The message "Permanently delete database (database filename.nsf)? Warning: if you choose Yes, the database and all of its documents will be deleted."  will appear. Click Yes to delete the database.

The database will be deleted from your hard drive and will no longer be accessible.
