When you move to a new location, you should request a mail file move so that your Lotus Notes mail file is located in the same place as you for better performance. To request a mail file move, a NorthStar request should be submitted.

To submit the NorthStar ticket:

1. Log on to NorthStar (http://northstar.peoplesoft.com).

2. Click the Log Service Ticket link in the Submit Tickets section on the left side of the screen.

3. Click the radio button next to Lotus Notes and click Next>.

4. What type of problem are you having?: Click the down arrow and select I need to move my home mail server.

   Subject: Type " I need my mail file moved from (old location) to (new location)."

   Description: Request to be moved to the new location's staff or PeopleFriends group as well.

5. Click Next>.

6. Effective date: Enter the effective date of the move.
   New location: Click the down arrow and select the new location.

7. Click Finish.

 

You will receive notification when your mail file has been moved. Once your mail file has been moved, the Office location document in your Personal Address Book must be changed to reflect the new mail server.

To change your Office location document in Lotus Notes:

1. Select F ile from the menu bar.

2. Select M obile from the drop down menu and select L ocations... from the next drop down menu.

3. Double click on Office (Network) to open the document and click the Edit Location button.

4. Click the Servers tab and type the entire new server name in the Home/mail server: field.

• Example: PSMAIL12/PeopleSoft should be typed instead of just PSMAIL12.

5. Click the Save and Close button.

The Office (Network) location document has now been changed.

To find your mail server name:

1. Open the PeopleSoft Directory in Lotus Notes.

2. Open the People view by clicking on it.

3. Type the your last name and press {Enter}.

4. Open your person document by double-clicking on the name and click the Mail tab.

5. Your mail server is listed in the Mail server: field.

This is the information that should be changed Home/mail server: field in the Office location document once the mail file has been moved.
