Lotus Notes database not functioning properly

Document number: 16016

Each Lotus Notes database has been designed to function in a specific way. The role of the Database Manager is maintain the database so that it is functioning properly and maintain the access control list, along with other responsibilities. Depending on which distribution groups a user is a part of, access levels to specific databases may vary.

If a Lotus Notes database does not seem to be functioning properly, contact the Database Manager who should assess the problem. If necessary, the database manager will initiate the support process by opening a NorthStar ticket, which should include specific details about the database involved, exactly what the issue is, and any additional screen shots or attachments that clearly illustrate the issue.

NorthStar tickets involving changes, bugs, etc. are only to be opened by the database manager. Users opening NorthStar tickets for these types of issues will be referred to the database manager.

For information on how to determine who the Database Manager is, see Eureka! document 12031 — How to get access to a Lotus Notes database (determining the name of the database manager link).
