As part of the new installation of Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition, version 7.61, the Norton AntiVirus icon will no longer appear in the Windows system tray (the icons at the bottom right-hand corner of your Windows desktop.) This behavior is by design and cannot be changed. For more information on how to launch Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition, see Eureka! document 15036 — How to launch AntiVirus software.

This behavior is the same for Symantec AntiVirus version 8.0.1.

Symantec AntiVirus version 8.1.1 will put the icon back into the System Tray.
